Details
The project included 5,200 LF of 30-inch Fiberglass Reinforced Pipe and 2,300 LF of 33-inch FRP via open cut. 200 LF of pipe and casing was installed between two aerial crossings over the Comal River, one which involved complete demolition and install of a pedestrian walkway bridge in less than 30 days. 900 LF was installed by Microtunnel under two Union Pacific Railroads and under Wurstfest Hall. The remaining 200 LF was installed by Jack and Bore, which included a TxDOT road crossing. A total of 39 Polymer Concrete Manholes, including 4 vented and 3 drop manholes were also included. The project also planned for a re-alignment of an existing 12” waterline, and 5 sanitary sewer tie-ins to existing lines and manholes. Four major bypass pumping setups were included for tie-ins and the removal and replacement of the two aerial crossings. Two of the bypasses included stretching 18” HDPE pipe over river crossings. A total of 7,300 LF of existing sewer pipe was grout abandoned.
